Glean AI Gateway: One control plane beneath every AI front door

This post introduces Glean AI Gateway, a new control plane designed to manage diverse AI front doors and their underlying models. Key technical contributions include: a unified governance layer for model and MCP access, token usage, and security across multiple AI surfaces; cost control mechanisms like budget limits, quotas, and automatic fallback to less expensive models; model agnosticism supporting over 30 providers; an observability layer for tracking token spend, MCP tool usage, model latency, and error rates; consistent application of data permissions and granular access controls; uniform AI security models (prompt injection detection, content filtering) across all front doors and models; and integration with Glean's enterprise graph to provide shared, accurate enterprise context for AI operations.
